Togo: Ministry of Foreign Affairs Begins Digitalizing its Services

(Togo First) – In Togo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Togolese Abroad has begun digitalizing its services. The project, part of the Public Administration Digitalization Program, was launched by Ministers Robert Dussey and Cina Lawson, respectively in charge of Foreign Affairs and Public Service Digitalization, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, with the goal of modernizing administrative procedures over a four-week period.

Following the Ministries of Energy and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is now one of the new focus areas of this transformation.

The project is based on several pillars, including the establishment of connectivity infrastructure, the interconnection of services, and the digitalization of internal processes. It also includes the introduction of solutions for electronic mail management and digital archiving to improve the flow of administrative information.

Strengthening Skills

It should be noted that for the government as a whole, the goal is to enhance the performance of the public administration through digital technology.

Thus, a key component involves capacity building, with the training of over 280 staff members in cybersecurity practices and the use of digital tools. In parallel, a sector analysis room will enable real-time performance monitoring and support the development of public policies.

The program also includes simplifying administrative procedures to facilitate user access to public services.

For the Minister of Foreign Affairs, this evolution is essential in the context of a comprehensive transformation of public action. “Digitalization is not simply an option for improvement, but a recognized accelerator in the implementation of our country’s development objectives,” stated Robert Dussey.
