(Togo First) – Togo has established a structured center designed to transform innovative ideas into competitive technological solutions. Named Djanta Tech Hub, the initiative was officially launched on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Lomé by the Ministry of Public Service Efficiency and Digital Transformation.

The center is one of the first components of the future national network of technology hubs. It aims to support innovative project leaders in order to strengthen Togo’s digital ecosystem.

Initiated within the framework of the Togo Digital Transformation Acceleration Project (PANT) and financed by the World Bank, the Djanta Tech Hub is dedicated to the incubation, acceleration, and mentoring of startups that integrate a technological component into their activities.

The initiative targets several strategic sectors, including agriculture, education, finance, tourism, logistics, trade, creative industries, and SME productivity. Two programs will be deployed within this framework: “Idea-Action,” dedicated to the pre-incubation of innovative projects, and “Innov’Action,” aimed at startups already operating in the market.

For the implementation of its first program, the Djanta Tech Hub will collaborate with a pan-African incubator with operations in Nigeria, Kenya, and Rwanda. This partnership is expected to support approximately 72 Togolese startups between June 2026 and July 2027.

The initiative also includes the launch of the “Start” fund, designed to support around thirty young entrepreneurs with innovative solutions. The planned grants average €15,000 per project.

Regarding the name “Djanta,” which means “lion” in the local language, the Minister of Public Service Efficiency and Digital Transformation, Cina Lawson, explained that it refers to the courage needed to undertake new ventures. This initiative is part of the government’s ambition to develop a vast network of incubators across the country to support local technology initiatives.

Ultimately, more than one hundred similar spaces are expected to be deployed throughout the country, it was stated.
